Sterling Silver Bass Trombone Repair and Mount

This customer wanted their sterling silver Glassl bell mounted on this Shires Q valve section. This proved quite difficult for a number of reasons. The bell had been damaged and previously mounted at least 2 times, and the Shires tuning slide and valve section did not fit each other at all (the ID on each of the outer tubes were smaller than the OD of the inner tubes). We also replaced the factory linkage with genuine minibal parts, in order to ensure smooth action without any play. The end play on the rotors was also adjusted to be snug. It turned out pretty great!
